The ideas and opinions shared on this website are based mostly on
biblical principles and specific verses found in the Bible.
Obviously, not everyone will agree with all of the opinions
expressed on this website, nor on principles declared in the Bible.
Therefore, from time to time, we will include some of the contrarian
feedback that we receive ... so you can contemplate opposing viewpoints.
Here is one example:
Someone wrote to share a contrarian opinion that strongly objected
to our stated premise that: "Everybody needs good, trustworthy friends."
The contrarian writer wrote this, in part:
"Would the person that says they don't need a good trustworthy
friend agree with this? ... Everybody needs oxygen or they will die.
Not Everybody needs good, trustworthy friends. I have several
acquaintances that do not need or want good trustworthy friends.
So what do you think? How wise and prudent is that attitude?
Do you agree that there are people who do not ever need a good,
trustworthy friend? Do you agree that there are people who are
able to go through life happily and successfully without ever
having or needing a good, trustworthy friend?
The definition of a contrarian is: a person who takes a contrary
position or attitude. A contrarian is defined as a person who opposes
or rejects popular opinion. Contrarians tend to have an unusually
strong sense of self that allows them to be more vocal about their
differing opinions. Anyone who thinks that what most people believe
is wrong is called a contrarian. A contrarian is defined as a person
who opposes or goes against a prevailing belief or ideal. A person
who always says the opposite of popular opinion, etc.
